Any ideas?

As many of you know, we lost a friend last week. Even after the funeral, we are struggling to find some kind of closure. Our group of friends is thinking of a fitting way to remember and honor our friend. Commemorative bricks in his favorite places, dedicated trees, party to raise money for his memorial scholarship fund....

Does anyone have any other good ideas?

Thanks.

Again I'm sorry for your loss. My FIL died many years ago and was a beloved teacher at a small high school. They created a scholarship in his memory, and every year they do a golf tournament to raise money for it. It is a wonderful event because it brings together many of the people who loved him as a person and respected him as a teacher. It is still going strong more than 10 years later which is unusual. I hope you find the appropriate way to remember your friend.

I wish I had some ideas for you. It's hard to find the right way to honor someone you loved. For my grandfather's death we bought my daughter a wooden rosary like the one my grandmother bought me as a child. It was something that carried a lot of meaning for me (I loved my grandma so much) and honors my grandfather's religious beliefs. It also helps us tie in the family heritage that has influenced our spiritual journey. A bit confusing for a toddler, but it's something we can talk about for years.
