Monday Morning Quickies...

*My two little ones are very interested in smoking. "So what is smoking, Mom?" This has come from a couple weeks of pointing out no smoking signs. I realized they had no idea what smoking was. So we had a discussion about it...in my honest manner. Our 4yo is so concerned he had to tell his grandfathers 'no smoking, you will get sick and die!'

*I am still sad that Kickapoo Park might close....write those emails!

*We realized last night that we are really adults now...trying to watch MTV's Video Music Awards. Not only had we not seen any of the videos...we didn't even know most of the artists. The host was a British comedian Russell Brand...his best line was about Bristol Palin's baby daddy...It was the best birth control ever....you have unprotected teenage sex and they send you to the Republican National Convention...that guy's never having sex again.

*Curtis Orchard has lost its appeal for us. Through the years, it has gotten a bit commercial and expensive. And now...they took away the hay...my kids favorite part. My littles ones still liked to run around but we didn't particularly enjoy ourselves.

I agree with you about Curtis Orchards. Even though it's more of a drive I think we'll go to the Pumpkin Patch in Arthur....

We love The Great Pumpkin Patch, there is an entry fee but it is reasonable and there is so much to do there.

Yeah, I was bummed about the hay not being there. Why take all the fun out of a "farm" experience? My kids LOVED jumping into the hay.

Thanks for the heads-up about the hay. We haven't been there yet this summer. My main reason to go there is for the honeycrisp apples. YUM!

One of the participants in the Labor Day Parade was smoking in his convertible as he waved at kids. I almost ran into the street to kick him in the head. Thanks man, really.

I agree about Curtis Orchard, but my husband NEEDS apple donuts!

We love the orchard's donuts...but Meijer's apple donuts are very close (maybe even better...especially if you are lucky enough to get them warm).
